Subaru believes we all should have a chance to lead a healthy life. This past June, Subaru and our retailers partnered with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society® (LLS) and their local hospital cancer treatment centers to give warm blankets and encouraging messages of hope written by retailers and Subaru customers in our stores to support patients facing cancer.
Through the LLS Urgent Need Program, Pediatric, we also provided over 2,200 pediatric blood cancer patient households financial relief to help offset non-medical costs associated with treatment, such as transportation, food, housing, utilities, etc.
Providing warmth, love, and support when and where they’re needed most is our way of letting these patients and their families know we care. We are proud to be LLS’s largest automotive donor and to be on track to have supported nearly 350,000 cancer patients nationwide by the end of this year.

Patient Stories
Approximately every three minutes, a person in the U.S. is diagnosed with a blood cancer like leukemia, lymphoma, or myeloma. The recovery can be long and often leaves them feeling weak, cold, and isolated. Subaru and our retailers are committed to helping patients through this challenging time.
Patient Stories
Nikolas Davison was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in November 2016 at 10 years old. Like most cancer patients, his road to recovery was long and challenging. He spent many long nights in the hospital receiving cumbersome treatments with his family by his side. Subaru partnered with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) to provide Nik with a warm blanket, patient care kit, and a hand-written message of hope. This small gesture is just one way Subaru and our retailers are supporting courageous cancer patients like Nik and the families who support them. We’re excited to report that as of this day, Nik has completed all chemo treatments.
Patient Stories
In July 2018, slow-healing cuts and bruises were the first signs something was wrong with 3-year-old Jelien Ramos. As the months went by, constant spiking fevers led to multiple hospital visits but no diagnosis. Finally, a bone marrow biopsy confirmed she had leukemia. Jelien began her treatment in January 2019 and the LLS was there to support her and her family — help that became even more essential during the COVID-19 pandemic. This chapter of Jelien’s story closed with a happy ending. She went on to “ring the bell” and then finished her treatment on April 16, 2021. Jelien’s family remains forever grateful to the LLS and her school district is raising funds to help them support more patients.
