Over the last 16 years, through the Subaru Share the Love® Event, Subaru and our participating retailers have donated more than $288 million to charity, with customers choosing between four national charities and nearly 2,300 hometown charities.
Subaru is the largest corporate donor to the ASPCA®.
A leading voice for animals for over 150 years, the ASPCA works to protect, rescue, and care for vulnerable animals nationwide.
One-year-old Gato was rescued after being found abandoned in a cat carrier on a construction site. Emaciated and in poor condition, he was quickly taken to the ASPCA® Animal Recovery Center (ARC) to receive immediate care. It was discovered that Gato has cerebellar hypoplasia, a neurological disorder that meant he would need a very special adopter to love him for who he is and give him a little extra support. Luckily that adopter was by his side caring for him at ARC the whole time and he was later adopted by Juanita, an ASPCA Integrated Care Assistant. With help from Subaru and the annual Subaru Share the Love Event, the ASPCA can continue to operate lifesaving facilities like ARC to help reach more animals like Gato.
Subaru is the largest automotive donor to Make-A-Wish®.
Make-A-Wish creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Research shows that granting wishes can improve children’s quality of life and produce better health outcomes.
11-year-old Quinn has cystic fibrosis. She thought she was going to look at cars with her family, but was surprised by family, friends, and community members, plus Make-A-Wish® and Subaru partners, with a party to celebrate the granting of her wish to go to Hawaii. Subaru of Cherry Hill, in partnership with Make-A-Wish New Jersey, hosted the send-off party for Quinn filled with her favorite things, like a Kona Ice truck and fire dancer, plus exciting gifts for her trip. Approximately 27,000 children are diagnosed with a critical illness each year, and research shows that a wish can lead to better health outcomes and a higher chance of survival. Through the annual Subaru Share the Love Event, more than 600 Subaru retailers across the country partner with Make-A-Wish to help support children and families impacted by critical illnesses, transforming lives one wish at a time for children like Quinn.
Subaru is the largest automotive donor to Meals on Wheels®.
Meals on Wheels provides nutritious meals, much-needed human connection, and fosters independence for seniors and people with disabilities.
At 88 years old and speaking little English, Tomoko spent most days isolated at home. Meals on Wheels® volunteers struggled to communicate with her because of the language barrier. That all changed when Andrew began volunteering. Fluent in Japanese, he could talk with Tomoko, but that was just the start. The two also attended Japanese heritage events together. With support from donors like Subaru through the Subaru Share the Love® Event, Andrew provided something Tomoko so desperately needed: friendship.
Subaru is the largest corporate donor to the National Park Foundation.
The National Park Foundation works to protect wildlife and park lands, preserve history and culture, educate youth, and connect people everywhere to the wonder of parks.
Preserving and protecting nature is critically important. The National Park Foundation and Subaru are helping expand waste reduction and recycling efforts across the national parks, making these treasured places more sustainable for generations to come.
Subaru retailers across the country are dedicated to giving back to their communities all year long. And through the Share the Love® Event, they support hometown charities close to their hearts. Learn more about your local retailer’s impact and hometown charities below.
