Subaru, Travis Pastrana, and ''The Family Huckster'' Gymkhana GL Wagon Return to Goodwood for 2023 Festival of Speed

July 10, 2023

West Sussex, England - Following an impressive debut in the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed’s hillclimb Shootout and racking up millions of views as the star of “Gymkhana 2022”, Subaru Motorsports USA is happy to announce the return of Travis Pastrana’s “Family Huckster” 1983 Subaru GL wagon to the English countryside for the 2023 Goodwood Festival, from July 13-16.

The Festival of Speed takes place on the palatial Goodwood Estate and was founded by the 11th Duke of Richmond, Charles Gordon-Lennox, in 1993. Among the featured events during the Festival of Speed are a Forest Rally Stage, an Off-Road Arena, and an extreme sports showcase with motocross and BMX riders.

The most famous Festival of Speed event, however, is the Sunday Shootout up the estate’s iconic 1.16-mile hillclimb. Race and road-going cars and motorcycles of all types make the hillclimb, from those making their world debuts to museum pieces from the earliest days of motorized transport. Whether it’s to show out, claim the fastest time in the Shootout, or both, Goodwood is a unique opportunity to witness some of the fastest and rarest vehicles in the world be pushed in ways almost never seen.

The Family Huckster fits into the “all types” on display at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Custom carbon fiber body panels incorporate an active aero rear wing and hydraulic front and rear aero flaps into the classic GL wagon shape. Under the hood, an 862-horsepower turbocharged SUBARU BOXER 4-cylinder engine sends its power via a sequential 6-speed transmission through a long-travel World Rally Championship-spec suspension to all four KMC forged monoblock wheels.

Car enthusiasts everywhere will have their eyes on the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed July 13-16. Subaru Motorsports USA and Travis Pastrana may be looking to run the fastest hillclimb for an internal combustion engine vehicle, but Goodwood is a celebration of all things automotive above anything else so Travis may just decide to run epic donuts in The Family Huckster instead – and if he takes home that fastest ICE time, all the better!

Driver Quotes:
Travis Pastrana: "The Festival of Speed is one of the most fun and unique motorsports experiences on the planet. I’m excited to be going back with the Huckster for the hillclimb event but equally as excited to see all the other amazing vehicles and events!"
