Camden, NJ – After a thrilling 2024 American Rally Association (ARA) championship season decided in the final stages between the defending champion and his returning teammate, the 2025 ARA season is set to ignite at the Sno*Drift Rally in Atlanta, Michigan, on February 7-8. Subaru Motorsports USA’s powerhouse teams—featuring extreme sports icon Travis Pastrana with co-driver Rhianon Gelsomino, and three-time defending ARA champion Brandon Semenuk with co-driver Keaton Williams—delivered a nail-biting showdown last season. In 2025, Semenuk and Williams aim to solidify their dominance with a fourth consecutive title, while Pastrana and Gelsomino return with a new mission and a new car.
"The start of a new ARA season is always exciting,” says Semenuk, “and as tradition goes, Sno*Drift kicks it off.” Sno*Drift is always a highly anticipated event, not only because it is the traditional starting location for the ARA season, but for the celebratory atmosphere created by spectators. The best example of this is the famous Bonfire Alley night stage, a five-mile run through the dusk and dark lit by campfires and bonfires along the way, creating a stunning and surreal scene.
Drivers and fans alike also look forward to Sno*Drift as an event where snow comes into play – usually. “Last year this winter event surprised us with no snow,” recalls Semenuk, who had been excited to test the then brand-new WRX ARA24 in wintry conditions. “2025 will likely be my first chance to race the newest WRX on snow. There’s still plenty to learn about the car on this slippery surface, but I’m ready for the challenge and looking forward to starting another incredible season with Subaru Motorsports USA!"
Motorsport icon Travis Pastrana will not attend Sno*Drift but is set to return to the stages soon to embark on an exciting new chapter in 2025 – focusing on the development of an all-new specification Subaru WRX rally car. Pastrana's mission is to grow the sport of rally by making it more attainable for aspiring competitors, and so this new car is being designed to prioritize affordability and accessibility. Details about the new car and Pastrana’s event schedule will be announced soon; what is certain is that Pastrana will once again team up with longtime co-driver Rhiannon Gelsomino, continuing their successful partnership.
A new championship chase for Semenuk and Williams; the unpredictable nature of rally; a new car for Travis – there’s a lot to keep up with this ARA season.
